Vinegar Lovers Celebrate Vinegar Day: Folks Enjoy the Healing Powers of Vinegar 365 Days a Year

Vinegar Lovers Celebrate Vinegar Day: Folks Enjoy the Healing Powers of Vinegar 365 Days a Year

"The Vinegar Man" Lawrence Diggs heads the eighth annual International Vinegar Festival (an activity started by the "Community for the Advancement of Roslyn and Eden" in 2000) in Roslyn, a place that welcomes people worldwide to appreciate the vast virtues of vinegar.

Lake Tahoe, CA (PRWEB) June 13, 2007

Calendars are being marked because Saturday (June 16) is Vinegar Day -- at least in South Dakota. "The Vinegar Man" Lawrence Diggs (vinegar @ vinegarman. com) heads the eighth annual International Vinegar Festival (an activity started by the "Community for the Advancement of Roslyn and Eden" in 2000) in Roslyn, a place that welcomes people worldwide to appreciate the vast virtues of vinegar.

For those who can't whisk away to South Dakota for a day of "Soured Powered Fun for the Whole Family" packed with vinegar-related fun and festivities, they can still celebrate vinegar for their health's sake year-round, notes Cal Orey, author of The Healing Powers of Vinegar, Revised and Updated (Kensington, 2006).

According to the U. S. Census Bureau, at least 47 million Americans live with no health insurance in the richest country in the world. The Vinegar author says, "In the 21st century, preventive health care and natural remedies -- like apple cider vinegar, red wine vinegar, rice vinegar, and fruit-flavored vinegar -- can help people stay healthy for pennies a day and keep doctors away."

Orey adds, "If you can't afford skyrocketing health care costs, you can't afford not to use vinegar in your daily wholesome diet chock-full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, olive oil and vinegar." Plus, in The Healing Powers of Vinegar, proven home cures may help you ward off summer woes such as insect and bee stings, sunburn, swimmers ear, toenail fungus, and weight gain which can lead to high blood pressure, out of whack cholesterol, and diabetes 2.

This will be the eighth "Vinegar Festival" on record, and Orey hopes it inspires folks around the world to celebrate vinegar. She says, "People in countries (such as China and Korea) around the globe reap the inexpensive health perks of versatile vinegar every day. You, too, can put the amazing powers of a practical, popular and potent elixir to work in your own backyard, whether it be California, Iowa or New York."

So what is the message in a bottle? "While the folk remedy is applauded on Vinegar Day," concludes Orey, "amazing vinegar can be used in every household 365 days a year for everyday folks (and companion animals) at any age."

About the Author
Cal Orey is an accomplished author and journalist. Her books include: "Doctors' Orders," "202 Pets' Peeves," "The Man Who Predicts Earthquakes," and The Healing Powers of Olive Oil" (Kensington, to be released February 2008).

Cal Orey (who is a vinegar convert) is an accomplished author and journalist. More information can be found on this book (and interviews can be scheduled) at www. calorey. com.

Ultrasonic Antifouling Protects Military Landing Craft

Ultrasonic Antifouling Protects Military Landing Craft

The UK Ministry of Defence has selected world-class Ultrasonic Antifouling technology to help maintain the performance of its LCVP MKIV landing craft. Ultrasonic Antifouling – the world's leading brand of electronic antifouling technology – has been chosen as an MoD supplier after a series of successful maritime tests.

(PRWEB) August 13, 2010

The UK Ministry of Defence has selected world-class Ultrasonic Antifouling technology to help maintain the performance of its LCVP MKIV landing craft.

Ultrasonic Antifouling – the world's leading brand of electronic antifouling (http://www. ultrasonic-antifouling. com/index. html) technology – has been chosen as an MoD supplier after a series of successful maritime tests.

Ultrasonic Antifouling (http://www. ultrasonic-antifouling. com/ultrasonic_antifouling_power_boats. html) uses electronic sound pulses to inhibit barnacle and algae growth on the underside of boats – maintaining maximum hull speeds and significantly cutting their fuel and maintenance costs.

Three LCVP MKIV landing craft were each fitted with three transducers, protecting not just their hulls but also their sizeable stern gear.

Earlier this year, the Australian Customs & Border Protection Service also installed Ultrasonic Antifouling technology on one of its vessels tasked to patrol the coast off the country's Northern Territory.

Ultrasonic Antifouling Ltd Director David Sothcott said: "We are very pleased that these organisations are using our products and have gained such success from them."

Ultrasonic Antifouling's proven technology is currently sold in more than 50 countries, helping sailing and motor boat owners to boost their vessels' performance while reducing costs.

The company will be demonstrating its technology on stand G004 at the UK’s Southampton Boat Show, September 10-19.

The antifoul (http://www. ultrasonic-antifouling. com/the_benefits_of_antifoul. html) benefits of the system include:
complete hull protection – boosting long-term performance  faster hull speeds throughout the entire season  lower fuel bills and fewer costly lift-outs  less hull-scraping, repainting and antifouling (http://www. ultrasonic-antifouling. com/future_of_antifouling. html) removal  one-time 'fit and forget' installation with no through-hull drilling.

Ultrasonic Antifouling protects the entire underwater hull area of a vessel, helping to keep stern gear, water intakes, bow thrusters, impellers and trim tabs free from barnacle and algae growth.

The highly respected Motor Boat & Yachting magazine has named Ultrasonic Antifouling (http://www. ultrasonic-antifouling. com/product_of_the_month. html) Product of the Month with a five-star MBY rating by following a long-term test on one of its vessels.

Ultrasonic's marine antifouling (http://www. ultrasonic-antifouling. com/how_does_it_work. html) system is very simple to fit and use:
Transducers are bonded to the inside of the hull with no through-hull holes needed. Detailed instructions make fitting easy.  A control box sends pulsed ultrasonic signals to the transducer(s) which emit low power sound waves that are virtually inaudible.  These high frequency sound waves create a wall of moving water molecules over the hull surface, killing algae and preventing barnacle growth.

While this sonic antifouling (http://www. ultrasonic-antifouling. com/sonic_antifouling. html) technology is new to the marine sector, it is well proven in stopping fouling on water intakes in lakes, ponds and reservoirs where its non-toxic qualities are essential. It has been used in this sector for at least 25 years.

Ultrasonic's antifoul (http://www. ultrasonic-antifouling. com/ultrasonic_antifouling_product_selector. html) technology comes in three models – the Ultra 10, the Ultra 20 and the Ultra Solar. Each comprises a control box connected to either one (Ultra 10) or two (Ultra 20) transducers, depending on boat size and type.

Ultrasonic Antifouling also offers a customised design service for more complex installations involving superyachts, trimarans and commercial vessels.

To manage the system even more effectively, Ultrasonic Antifouling has also added some clever technology; the new Ultra 10 Dual Voltage, the Ultra 20 Dual Voltage and the Ultra Solar.

Ultra Dual Voltage will automatically switch between different power supplies, choosing the best option; favouring 230v mains supply, thus preventing the unit from being accidentally switched off.

If you have a pontoon berth and your shore power cuts out for any reason, Ultra Dual Voltage will automatically switch to your boat's battery so the antifouling effect continues uninterrupted.

And when you return to your berth or the power is restored, the system will automatically switch back to shore power – making Ultrasonic Antifouling a 'fit and forget' no maintenance system.

If you don't have shore power or are on a swinging mooring, Ultrasonic Antifouling (http://www. ultrasonic-antifouling. com/ultra_solar. html) Ultra Solar allows you to reap the full benefits by controlling power between solar panels, the battery and the transducers.

Its intelligent solar unit keeps your battery healthy and provides the Ultrasonic Antifouling system with the correct amount of power (solar panel not supplied).

With tried and tested, non-toxic science, environmental credentials and clever technology, Ultrasonic Antifouling is a permanent fit-and-forget answer to hull contamination.

New lower prices (inc UK VAT) for the Ultrasonic Antifouling range
 Ultra 10 System, single transducer – £949  Ultra 20 System, twin transducers – £1,799  Ultra 10 Dual Voltage System, single transducer – £999  Ultra 20 Dual Voltage System, twin transducers – £1,899  Ultra 10 Solar – £1,499  Ultra 20 Solar – £2,349

Notes to Editors

Ultrasonic Antifouling is a revolutionary way to protect boats from fouling using high frequency, low power sound waves to destroy algae and prevent weed and barnacle growth. The system has been carefully researched and developed and is now being used with great success all over the world.

Women to Women Announces Launch of Herbal Equilibrium™

Women to Women Announces Launch of Herbal Equilibrium™

New phytotherapy promotes the balance of the three key hormones that fluctuate in perimenopause and menopause.

Yarmouth, ME (PRWEB) March 12, 2008

Women to Women announced the successful launch of Herbal Equilibrium™ today. This exclusive new product, which the practice began offering in early November, was formulated to address the top symptoms of hormonal imbalance and to promote the natural balance of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone -- three hormones that can fluctuate greatly in perimenopause and menopause.

Herbal Equilibrium™ was developed by Women to Women in conjunction with leading endocrine and nutrition experts, and uses the latest research in the field of phytotherapy to gently support the endocrine system. Phytotherapy is the use of plants, either in whole food form or in the form of standardized extracts and supplements, for healing purposes. Phytotherapy dates to the very origins of medicine and has recently been substantially redefined and validated within the scientific community.

"Since opening the doors at Women to Women, we have been drawing on the healing power of herbs to safely help women with hormonal imbalances," said Marcelle Pick, co-founder and director of the renowned clinic in Yarmouth, Maine. "Especially when it's combined with healthy lifestyle and dietary choices, phytotherapy can gently help women reverse hormonal imbalance and maintain a symptom-free equilibrium."

Since its launch, almost 9,000 women have made Herbal Equilibrium™ part of their daily regimen to help alleviate their symptoms of hormonal imbalance. The overwhelming majority of the feedback on this new product has been positive in the 90-plus days since its full-scale introduction. The clinic has also initiated a formal study to assess alleviation of menopause symptoms with Herbal Equilibrium™.

"It does not surprise me that women are seeing such positive results," said Pick. "The combination of herbs in this product work synergistically and adaptogenically to naturally restore and support hormonal balance."

Savvier Health Guarantees to Improve Employee Health, Improve Productivity, and Decrease Sick Days or Will Refund Twice the Company's Investment in its Program

Savvier Health Guarantees to Improve Employee Health, Improve Productivity, and Decrease Sick Days or Will Refund Twice the Company's Investment in its Program

Savvier Health, a corporate health empowerment company vows to boost health and productivity and lower sick days or pay back the companies investment twofold.

Columbia, MD (PRWEB) June 12, 2006

Savvier Health, a corporate health empowerment company, its ongoing mission to improve the health, well-being and productivity of employees while simultaneously boosting the bottom line of their companies, has issued an intriguing guarantee to businesses. Savvier Health is so confident that its 60 minute physician-conducted ‘Maximum Medical Care, Minimum Medical Costs’ teleseminars will transform the lives of its participants it vows to repay companies twice their cost in select health-related products and services if they do not see a significant increase in employee productivity and fewer sick days within 6 months of the teleseminar. See http://savvierhealth. com (http://savvierhealth. com)

The health-related products and services a company could qualify for as a reimbursement would be based on the company’s total investment in the teleseminars, but include services such as a complimentary customized corporate health and wellness Website for 1 year, including set up, design, and hosting, valued at several thousand of dollars. Savvier Health is so confident that its teleseminars will have such a dramatic impact on both the employees and their companies it can easily give such a substantial guarantee of its services.

“It’s really quite simple,” states A. M.Hester, M. D., company spokesperson. “We have traditionally had a very paternalistic health care system. Patients have never been taught how to partner in their health care to optimize their health while they lower their costs. You don’t have to be a health care professional to learn the fundamental ‘patient skills’ that can make the difference between successfully managing a chronic disease or suffering a devastating, life-altering outcome. Patients have far more untapped power than they realize. They can even help save their own lives in an emergency, unfortunately, most people just don’t know it yet.”

According to the most recent annual Employer Health Benefits study published by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research and Education Trust, health insurance premiums for family coverage have increased by 73% since 2000, compared to inflation growth (14%) and wage growth (15%). The study goes on to say that, on average, employers paid $4,024 for single coverage and $10,880 for family coverage in 2005.

In addition to the direct costs of illness, there the indirect ones. Harris, Rothenberg International estimates the full labor cost of absenteeism to be close to $250/day for an employee making $20K/yr, close to $500/day for an employee making $40K/yr, and over $1,000/day for an employee making $100K/yr.

Savvier Health’s teleseminars are very economical. Companies can sponsor several hundred teleseminar participants for the cost of one employee’s annual health benefits. Put another way, more than 30 participants could be trained by a board-certified physician to live longer, healthier, more productive lives while slashing health care costs for less than the company’s cost for 1 sick day for a single employee making $40K/yr.

It is easy to see how the ROI for businesses can be astronomical for Savvier Health’s teleseminars alone. Savvier Health also offers customized corporate health and wellness Web sites, in-house employee empowerment workshops (in the Washington, D. C. Metro Area, Philadelphia, and New York City), customized employee wellness newsletters, medical record-keeping guides, and live Webinars.
