COLA invited to Training Workshop on Good Biomedical Laboratory Practices by TCCLS and TaiwanÂ’s Bureau of Pharmaceutical Affairs of Department of Health

COLA announced that the Taiwanese Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards (TCCLS) and TaiwanÂ’s Bureau of Pharmaceutical Affairs of Department of Health (BPA/ DOH) have invited COLA to participate in the Training Workshop on Good Biomedical Laboratory Practices (GBLP).

COLUMBIA, MD,(PRWEB) November 7, 2003 – COLA announced today that the Taiwanese Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards (TCCLS) and Taiwan’s Bureau of Pharmaceutical Affairs of Department of Health (BPA/ DOH) have invited COLA to participate in the Training Workshop on Good Biomedical Laboratory Practices (GBLP). This event will take place November 8-9, 2003 in Taipei, Taiwan and address laboratory standards set by accreditation organizations and regulatory agencies.

During the workshop sessions, Douglas A. Beigel, COLA CEO, and three COLA surveyors will present topics focusing on medical laboratory science, particularly Quality Control, Quality Assessment, Proficiency Testing and Laboratory Information Systems. Additionally, COLA will discuss the COLA Survey Process and COLAÂ’s Standards of Accreditation, emphasizing how these standards correlate to the internationally recognized standards for medical laboratory practices (ISO 15189 Standards). Laboratories in Taiwan are working towards adopting ISO 15189 standards.

TCCLS anticipates approximately 160 persons, representing academic associations, biotechnology industries, accreditation organizations and government regulatory agencies will attend GBLP. In addition, TCCLS predicts approximately 20 international attendees from the Japan Committee on Clinical Laboratory Standards (JCCLS).
