Greensboro, NC (PRWEB) March 28, 2009
Andrew Courts of Environmental Solutions Group has achieved the LEED Accredited Professional designation from the United States Green Building Council. The LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. LEED Accredited Professionals have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System.
Courts has served as broker in charge of a successful real estate firm and is an adjunct faculty of Guilford County Technical Community College, where he teaches property evaluation and mortgage finance. In October, 2008, Courts completed all requirements to qualify as a HERS Rater under the EPA's Energy Star Homes program. The latest accomplishment as a LEED-AP complements his ability to assist property owners with building science and sustainability.
LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
Environmental Solutions Group assesses residential and commercial properties for environmental issues and energy use. ESG is a provider of third party ratings for the Environmental Protections Agency's ENERGY STAR program, energy performance verification for federal tax incentive programs, and green build verification for the National Association of Home Builders.
