Alternative Health and Wellness Fair Hosted by the Learning Institute of Family Education, April 17, in Redford
Holistic practitioners will be on hand offering alternative and complementary approaches to health and healing. Families interested in learning about hypnotherapy, massage therapy, aromatherapy, graphoanalysis, natural products, ear candling, and more, can visit the Alternative Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 17 from 11 a. m to 4 p. m., at the YWCA, located at 24940 Grand River, in Redford, MI. Admission is free and donations accepted.

Learning Institute of Family Education (LIFE) will host an Alternative Health and Wellness Fair on April 17, 2004 from 11 a. m. to 4 p. m. at the YWCA Northwest, located at 25940 Grand River, in Redford, MI. The entire family will have an opportunity to learn about complementary health care options.
The Alternative Health and Wellness Fair, co-sponsored by the YWCA, will include a variety of holistic approaches, including hypnosis, massage therapy, aromatherapy, natural products, Reiki, graphoanalysis, other healing arts and natural alternatives to health maintenance. Free health screenings will be offered by local hospitals. Demonstrations will include exercise, dance, healthy cooking, and safety. Participants can attend presentations on holistic approaches to healing. The Fair is a one-stop shop which features local schools, gospel and community choirs, musicians, and other events for the family.
Health Alliance Plan will provide an Ask-A-Nurse that allows participants to get answers on diet and nutrition and the American Red Cross will offer the Bone Marrow Registry information and disaster preparedness. The Detroit Health Department will provide information on the different wellness programs. Awareness information from various agencies will be on hand for those individuals looking for resources.
There is still room for more holistic practitioners and exhibitors. For more information, call (313) 342-0006. Admission to the fair is free. Attendees can win door prizes and enter the raffle drawing. Visitors to the Fair Café can purchase food and listen to relaxing music.
