Predicto Mobile Community Weighs in on Celebrity Weight Loss
Members of Snackable Media's popular mobile service, Predicto, chew the fat about heavy issues via text message.
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 1, 2010
With summer just around the corner, many people are hoping to tone up in time for beach season. Celebrities are not immune from the urge, a fact that's led the Predicto Mobile community to ponder some weighty issues this spring. Members of Snackable Media's popular polling service have been working out their fingers on cell phone keypads by texting their votes on which stars will get into shape.
R&B star Bobby Brown is looking to find a "new edition" of his previously svelte self by enrolling in VH-1's "Celebrity Fit Club." His stated goal is to lose 20 pounds, but so far he's only halfway there. With the show wrapping up soon, will Brown achieve his objective? Predicto voters are confident he can shed the remaining weight - 55% predict Brown will accomplish his goal.
While most people value fitness and weight loss, there is one New Jersey woman who tips the scale in the opposite direction. Donna Simpson is currently about 600 pounds, and via a 12,000-calories-a-day diet, aims to be the first woman to weigh 1,000 pounds. For the sake of her own health, this woman needs an intervention -- and the Predicto Mobile community has nominated "The Biggest Loser's" trainers to get involved. 67% voted that Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper will intercede before Simpson reaches her unusual goal.
Valerie Bertinelli already lost 40 pounds, thanks to her role as celebrity spokeswoman for Jenny Craig. Bertinelli's new ambition is to run in the prestigious Boston Marathon just four days shy of her 50th birthday. 61% of the Predicto Mobile community believes the former sitcom sweetheart will rise to the challenge and race to the finish. Some voters are more cynical about Bertinelli's reasons for participating, with one Predicto commenter questioning her motivation: "I bet she will do it just because it will make her more money and media attention."
Academy Award-nominee Gabourey Sidibe has been caught up in her own swarm of media buzz, and not just for her critically acclaimed role in "Precious." Ever since Howard Stern used a fiery rant on his radio show to admonish the star about her weight, there has been ample discussion about Sidibe's appearance. In response to the hubbub, a diet supplement company asked her to be its celebrity spokesperson, but Predicto voters do not envision the actress signing up to endorse the product. "I think she may eventually sign on for that, but I think for right now she is big and proud -- as well she should be," explained one voter, whose empowering comment typified the 60% of respondents who voted no.
Unlike Gabourey, Kirstie Alley is not proud of her plus-size shape. She has thrown herself into a new diet regime to lose weight and is documenting the results on her new A&E show, "Kirstie Alley's Big Life." Recalling Alley's history of inviting cameras to witness her weight loss results, the Predicto Mobile community deems it overwhelmingly likely that the "Cheers" star will appear on Oprah to show off her new figure, just as she famously did several years ago.
