News Anchor Turns News Maker, Launches Online Pet Resource

Journalist's Own Senior Dog is the Inspiration Behind Aarff. com, a Unique Website for Senior Pets

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) September 3, 2009

Pet owners, it's time to log on and learn! AARFF. com has officially made its Internet debut, a comprehensive website that is dedicated to providing the latest information on products, services, trends and treatments for pets. Launched in July, the online resource serves as a FREE clearinghouse of information for pet owners. The site is full of facts and fun including product reviews, a forum for people to ask veterinarians (Dr. AARFF) health questions, and even a "green" section for the pet that puts mother earth first. If it's dish about dogs or chat about cats, you'll find it on AARFF. com

AARFF. com was created to fill a very big void in cyberspace. It seems like you can find just about anything online these days, but when television anchor Kelly Jackson tried to find a reliable source of information about pets… the results were nothing to wag about. Particularly lacking was information about senior pets, their health, and the products available to make their lives full and happy. A lifelong pet lover and animal advocate, Jackson decided to do something to fill the fido and feline void. She applied her years of experience as a reporter, and started doing research, compiling data, and pooling resources. Inspired by her own dog Meeko, she wanted to create a website that would give pet owners the latest information on animals young and old. After a year of planning and production, the site was ready to go live.

"I know how frustrating it can be to search and search for answers online, and never find what you need," said Jackson. "Either the website is not reliable, the information is outdated, or the products are no good. As a journalist, I am well versed in finding good sources of information. It is what I do each and every day on the air! I want to provide that same service to fellow pet lovers. I am their advocate, doing my research each and every day, working to find the best information available, and then sharing it with AARFF. com visitors."

There are several unique components populating the AARFF. com website, chief among them the abundant links and pieces of information dedicated completely to the senior set. The original inspiration for AARFF, senior pets will always have a special place on this website. But, browsers will also find all the information they need for dogs and cats of any age.

The website, which is constantly updated with articles and resources, is powered by sponsors approached by Jackson herself. She has made it a point to use her keen reporting skills to vet out the best fits for this site (including the "Vets" themselves!). Jackson's plan is to grow aarff. com by introducing the concept to pet-friendly cities across the country, hosting events and creating a network of AARFF. com supporters and participants from coast to coast.
