(PRWEB)30 November E Sussex: LeadDiscovery, the pharmaceutical analysts, announced today that they have expanded their intelligence service, DailyUpdates, to provide a platform to highlight selected drug development-related services.

DailyUpdates was launched in 2002 by the pharmaceutical analysts LeadDiscovery and represents a key intelligence service used by pharmaceutical, biotech and academic research organizations. Most recently DailyUpdates has further evolved to deliver breaking information on drug development-related services to the life science community.

One of the challenges faced by those working in the drug development sector is to identify conferences, consumable, equipment and other services that will help push forward the process of pharmaceutical R&D. Likewise, a priority of companies servicing this sector is to deliver information on their services to target audiences. DailyUpdates offers a platform on which these two objectives can meet.

DailyUpdates is a daily listing of selected breaking journal articles, press releases and industry reports that is delivered by e-mail or on-line. Accessed over 40,000 times each month this service is now one of the most rapidly growing R&D intelligence services. In August, 2003, LeadDiscovery tested the concept that this platform could also deliver information on drug development-related services.

"Our aim was to highlight drug development-related services on DailyUpdates, however rather than acting in a traditional advertising role we decided to highlight only those services deemed to be of the upmost value to the drug discovery community" said Dr Jon Goldhill, CEO of LeadDiscovery. "We chose to test this concept by highlighting some of Management ForumÂ’s series of upcoming conferences. Management ForumÂ’s "Metabolic Syndrome: Focus on Diabetes, Metabolic Cardiology and Obesity", for example was felt to represent a conference that addressed the needs of metabolic disease R&D, an area already featured heavily by DailyUpdates. The results were pleasing. Not only was this information of use to our audience but Management Forum were also able to gain exposure to a highly target audience" continued Dr Goldhill.

Following the success of this test run, LeadDiscovery have now made the decision to continue raising the profile of selected drug development-related services.
