Cancer conqueror speaks out on the cancer/nutrition connection.
The old saying "you are what you eat" has never been more important than to people fighting cancer. Greg Anderson, a 20-year survivor of a 30-days-to-live lung cancer diagnosis, is founder of Cancer Recovery Foundation, whose mission is to help people prevent and survive cancer, and he knows this to be true.
Refusing to accept the hopelessness of his doctor's prognosis, Anderson went searching for people who had lived even though their doctors had told them they were "terminal." Hear his findings from interviews with more than 16,000 cancer patients including in-depth surveys of survivors' diets and nutritional practices. Eight out of ten survivors interviewed made self-described "major" shifts in dietary and nutritional practices. Food was viewed as part of a total treatment plan.
Anderson has devoted his life to helping cancer patients and their families across the globe learn how to prevent and survive cancer. He is the author of several acclaimed books, including The Cancer Conqueror and the international best seller The 22 (Non-Negotiable Laws) of Wellness.
Cancer Recovery Foundation is the largest non-profit organization that focuses on the "people side" of cancer. The Foundation does not underwrite cancer research or medical treatments. It emphasizes a whole-person approach to getting well again, pioneering the "cancer survival pyramid," a tool widely used in cancer education.
Greg Anderson will hold the first in a series of free teleseminars entitled "Cancer: Food as Medicine" on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at 8:30 p. m. Eastern/7:30 p. m. Central/5:30 p. m. Pacific.
