Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) November 8, 2007

An influential gathering of doctors, researchers, and emergency medicine professionals will convene in December to review successful applications of therapeutic hypothermia and patient temperature modulation in improving mortality rates and quality of life.

The 1st Annual International Therapeutic Temperature Management Congress (TTM Congress) will be held in Cancun, Mexico from December 4-7, 2007. An array of expert presentations, question-and-answer sessions, panels, roundtables, and debates will maximize communication of therapy research, guidelines, and best practices in addressing myocardial injury and cardiac arrest, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain and other head injury, stroke, asphyxia, and infection.

“As the event agenda reaches finalization and registration heightens,” said Dr. Kees Polderman, Vice Chairman, Department of Intensive Care, University Medical Center, Utrecht, Netherlands, and Lead Faculty of the Congress, “we, all, are increasingly aware of the exceptional opportunity bestowed to us. We intend to embrace all effort in advancing global understanding of this area of therapeutic medicine.”

Leading investigators and practitioners from countries that include the US, Canada, Australia, and the Netherlands as well as individuals associated with institutions that include the National Naval Medical Center, Duke University Medical Center, University of California San Diego Stroke Center, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and Columbia University Medical Center will discuss the latest test and trial data along with trends and distinctions in population, age, and gender application.

Cincinnati Sub-Zero (CSZ), a developer of advanced patient temperature management systems, including highly effective and efficient cooling products, is an unrestricted educational grant sponsor for the event. “The superior quality of the individual participants is surpassed only by the remarkable mindshare of the group as a whole,” said Mark Beran, Vice President and General Manager of CSZ Medical. “The exclusive exchange of clinical information and thought leadership about to take place makes the Congress a precedent-setting occurrence in the medical community’s adoption of these remarkable therapies.”
