Flamenco is the traditional expression of folk music in the Southern Spain region of Andalucia. There are more than 70 styles of flamenco which involve arrangements of dance, guitar and song. Traditional flamenco costumes are beautiful and vibrant and still worn today. Modern day flamenco is an ever-evolving artistic expression of the pride of the Spanish people.

The first romantic travellers expressed suprise and enchantment produced by the exotism of a passionate and hospitable Andalucía. And flamenco was found to be a common denominator.

More than 20 million visitors arrive Andalucía every year attracted by different motivations, the sun and beach, golf, congresses, conventions, incentives, nature, monuments, gastronomy, rural world, health, etc.; and nearly all have a reference or even have lived flamenco.

"The Spirit of Spain" will air in Chicago, September 24 at 11pm., ch.19, and in New York, September 30 at 10:30pm, ch. 56/ch.108-to a cable TV subsciber base whose audience exceeds 1,500,000 homes.
