Throughout November, Jasper will host local job fairs in Chicago, Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Colorado Springs, Colo.

In April 2010, the State of Illinois Department of Human Services and Heartland Human Care Services created “Put Illinois to Work,” a subsidized, work-relief program to combat the economic recession affecting Illinois. Since its inception, the program has employed more than 25,000 employees, according to an analysis of the program by the Heartland Alliance.
Funding for the program is expected to dry up by the end of November. And although Illinois’ unemployment rate dropped below 10 percent in September for the first time since April 2009, when the funding for this program runs out, thousands of workers across the state may once again be looking for work.
“Jasper only expands to markets where we can establish relationships and provide long-term opportunities,” says Wedding. “These open positions are an example of our immediate and positive effect on local communities.”
