About Hope for Our Youth (HFOY) HIV/AIDS National Awareness Campaign

The Hope for Our Youth (HFOY) HIV/AIDS National Awareness Campaign is designed to heighten the awareness and education of HIV/AIDS among teens. In fact, health reports consistently show that the African American community is disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS.

According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, approximately 40,000 new HIV infections occur each year in people between the ages of 15 and 24, which accounts for nearly half of all new HIV infections in the United States. The Centers of Disease Control (CDC) reports that Georgia is one of the top ten states with one of the highest infection rates of HIV/AIDS.

Iconic hip hop pioneer, Lana “MC Lyte” Moorer, actress Essence Atkins of UPN’s “Half & Half,” and actress Terri J. Vaughn of UPN’s “All of Us” and the WB’s “The Steve Harvey Show,” have partnered with the J4L Foundation and Wow! Productions, Inc. as spokespersons for the Hope for Our Youth (HFOY) HIV/AIDS National Awareness Campaign. Interviews with the spokespersons are available upon request.

Eclectic Vision 2006 is presented by the J4L Foundation Inc., the non-profit unit of Wow! Productions, Inc., an entertainment marketing firm, based in Oakland, Ca. The firm believes that problems that plague neighborhoods are sometimes viewed as the sole responsibility of those who reside in the neighborhood, but in reality, these problems concern us all. The mission of the J4L Foundation, Inc. is to raise awareness and financial resources to assist in making our communities a better place to live, work and play.
