Using a unique 13-step restoration process, "Healing From Slavery" delves into the sensitive issue of helping Americans heal from the racial divide caused by the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade. The restoration process will help both the descendants of the enslaved and descendants of those who where the enslavers begin a process to close cultural and racial divides and its negative effects in America. Upon request, the workshop or topic (in an abbreviated lecture/keynote format) can be presented anywhere in the United States or internationally for an employer as part of its cultural program, team-building event or leadership training.
“Healing From Slavery” will teach participants about the transatlantic slave trade in North America and its lasting effects on how we perceive race relations today, encourage dialogue about different perspectives on relevant constitutional and historical documents pertaining to slavery, study first-person slave narratives and learn how to use them as a dialogue and learning tool in the workforce to discuss cultural diversity. Any ethnic, cultural or racial group can apply the restoration process for use in their communities, which makes the workshop valuable for every member of an organization.
The workshop targets management leadership, human resources and cultural diversity professionals, school educators and administrators, human rights specialist, mental health professionals and anyone that is interested in exploring a new process to heal from the negative legacy of slavery. Community-based groups are also welcomed to participate.
