Ocean City, MD (PRWEB) July 5, 2006

Michael James traveled to Annapolis Thursday, June 29 where he officially filed as a Republican candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates from District 38B that includes all of Worcester county and eastern Wicomico County.

James’ filing came just days before he hosted Governor Ehrlich at a fundraising reception for his campaign at Shorebirds Stadium. Ehrlich appointed James as Chairman of the Maryland Tourism Development Board in 2003.

“This campaign is about taking Eastern Shore values to Annapolis and voting those values,” said James. “When my opponents pay lip service to Eastern Shore values and vote for big government and higher taxes like the liberals from Baltimore, Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties, I will point that out."

James also stressed the need for stricter laws to protect our children from sexual predators, create more good paying jobs for Eastern Shore families, controlling the costs of health care and lowering the tax burden on families.

Others attending the kick off reception included Olympic Gold Medalist Dorothy Hamill, Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan and several other supporters and area officials.

James resides in West Ocean City with his wife Marilyn and three children. He is a graduate of Salisbury University and the managing partner of the Carousel Resort Hotel and Condominiums in Ocean City.

Committee to Elect Michael James, Phil Whitman, Treasurer.
