Sensaphone® Introduces Skymetry – the Latest Wireless Remote Monitoring Technology for the Water and Wastewater Industry

SensaphoneÂ’s Skymetry system monitors and controls equipment and environmental conditions in water and wastewater facilities. It monitors pressure transducers, flow meters, water levels, timers, temperature, power failure, and alarms at water and wastewater treatment plants; as well as pumping stations, operating equipment, labs, and office facilities.

NEW ORLEANS, LA (PRWEB) October 6, 2004

Sensaphone, a pioneer in the design and development of remote monitoring systems for business and industry, introduces Skymetry™ – the latest wireless remote monitoring system specifically designed for the water and wastewater industry. Sensaphone launched the new product during the WEFTEC 2004 (Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans), the annual technical conference for water and wastewater professionals sponsored by the Water Environmental Federation.

SensaphoneÂ’s Skymetry system monitors and controls equipment and environmental conditions in water and wastewater facilities using eight dry inputs, six analog inputs, built-in power failure detection, and two relay outputs. Skymetry monitors pressure transducers, flow meters, water levels, timers, temperature, power failure, and alarms at water and wastewater treatment plants; as well as pumping stations, operating equipment, labs, and office facilities. When dangerous environment conditions occur that threaten personnel and equipment Skymetry issues automatic alarms to allow facility managers to take appropriate steps to minimize the impact.

The unit includes the Skymetry software package for Windows® and a Web page –www. skymetry. com – where input and output status can be monitored and alarm history reviewed. Users also have the ability to program the unit or control outputs via the web page.

“Wireless technology is in demand,” said James Fairburn, director of sales and marketing for Sensaphone. “I’m delighted that we can offer not only a premium monitoring and control solution through standard telephone lines but also bring that same ease-of-use and economies to the wireless customer through Skymetry.”

Skymetry delivers critical information anytime and anywhere via wireless alarm messaging delivered by real voice messages or e-mail, including wireless phone text messaging. Additionally, end users can request status reports via e-mail or through text messaging from a pager.

Additional features of Skymetry include:

·Built in power failure alarm and battery charger

·Low battery alarm

·Solar power option

·Alarm message delivery to 16 destinations

·Remote access to Skymetry web site for device status, alarm history, and programming

“Available in more than 300 cities nationwide, Skymetry delivers critical information while eliminating a facility’s reliance on landlines,” said Fairburn. “Our mission is to expand Skymetry’s wireless remote monitoring capabilities through continued research and development of the latest in wireless technologies and techniques.”
