Datascope Incorporates Sensitron’s Wireless Solution on OEM Basis

Patient monitoring equipment to be enhanced with wireless patient monitoring capabilities.

San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) August 28, 2006

Sensitron, Inc., a market leader in international wireless point-of-care solutions, announced that it has signed a contract with Datascope Corp., a leader in the manufacture of clinical and patient monitoring equipment, to market its solution on an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) basis under the Datascope name, AccuNet.

The AccuNet software significantly reduces transcription errors, allows patient data to be available to caregivers much sooner, substantially reduces paperwork and reduces overall hospital costs. The AccuNet software, which Sensitron created on an OEM basis specifically for Datascope Corp, allows for the automated collection and posting of patient vital sign data; Sensitron’s careTrends™ software is at the core of AccuNet.

“Many current problems in hospitals related to vital sign monitoring can be ameliorated by utilizing the AccuNet solution as it gathers readings from vital sign monitors through machine-to-machine interfaces,” said Rajiv Jaluria, CEO of Sensitron. “Datascope brings a wealth of experience in medical devices and a huge footprint in the United States. Sensitron is pleased to be partnered with such a well-established company.”

“This arrangement between Sensitron and Datascope is a continuation of Sensitron’s strategy of increasing its worldwide footprint through channel partners. Just as Sensitron increased its footprint abroad with entities such as Sensitron Europe, Sensitron UK and Sensitron Asia Pacific, it will increase its domestic footprint with Datascope. Sensitron hopes to increase US and international sales with other such partners (including OEMs).”
