EMR Connectivity Discussed at Radiology Business Management Association 2010 Fall Educational Conference
Austin Radiological Association and Corepoint Health Present on EMR Interfacing Best Practices
Frisco, TX (Vocus) October 14, 2010
Leaders from Corepoint Health, a healthcare integration software leader, and Austin Radiological Association (ARA), one of the largest providers of outpatient imaging in central Texas, successfully participated as presenters at the Radiology Business Management Association, also known as RBMA, which took place in Austin, Texas on September 25 – 29. The title of the session was Interfacing with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs): Preparing Your Internal Workflow to Support External Growth.
Sonal Patel, vice president of client services at Corepoint Health, and Jason Wilson, software engineering manager at ARA, presented on EMR interfacing best practices and implementation approaches. The presentation provided insight to attendees on key steps when interfacing to EMRs, as well as other lessons learned from experiences in interfacing to EMRs leveraging an integration engine.
“We have learned a great deal from our experiences in interfacing to various EMRs, and were glad to share lessons learned and implementation insights with other radiology groups,” said Jason Wilson, software engineering manager at ARA. “Connecting the patient data flow between radiologist and referring physicians is essential in today’s delivery of efficient and timely patient care. We appreciate the opportunity to share our best practices with the RBMA.”
“As a presenter at RBMA, the experience was rewarding and exciting," said Sonal Patel, a presenter at RBMA and vice president of client services at Corepoint Health. "I had the unique opportunity to interact with leaders in the radiology community in a way that engaged conversation and encouraged the pursuit of learning about healthcare IT,” added Patel. “I was energized to see the interest these leaders had regarding the future of electronic integration to EMRs.”
RBMA is not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the radiology health information technology industry by providing valuable information, educational opportunities and practice-related resources to its professional community and network.
ARA is a specialty physician practice with 87 Board Certified Radiologists. ARA owns and operates 15 outpatient imaging centers and provides professional services to 17 central Texas hospitals.
