Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) June 13, 2006 —

Risk analysis and management have become buzzwords—blanket terms used to describe the reengineering of government agencies responsible for public health and safety. But, as companies who must comply with new agency initiatives have learned, the devil is in the details. How should risks be identified? Are all risks alike? Can risk be reduced to simply a number? What are the best risk management options to mitigate particular risks?

Effective risk analysis and management in general — and as they relate to the Food And Drug Administration’s (FDA) latest effort to enhance good manufacturing practices (GMPs) in particular — are key if a company is to succeed. To help organizations establish risk management procedures, Catherine St. Hilaire, Ph. D., will discuss the how’s and why’s of risk analysis and risk management at the June 22, 2006, meeting of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS) (http://www. raps. org/s_raps/index. asp (http://www. raps. org/s_raps/index. asp)). The meeting is being held at the campus of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) beginning at 6:00 PM. The media are invited to attend.
