HCPro Announces the Online Version of its Clinical Documentation Improvement Boot Camp

HCPro Inc., a leader in healthcare education and training, and the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS) announce the popular four-day boot camp for clinical documentation improvement (CDI) specialists is now available as a two-week online program.

Marblehead, MA (PRWEB) August 26, 2010

HCPro Inc. (http://www. hcpro. com), a leader in healthcare education and training, and the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS) are making their popular four-day boot camp for clinical documentation improvement (CDI) specialists available as a two-week on line program starting this September.

The Clinical Documentation Improvement Boot Camp Online™ is developed for new CDI specialists or CDI specialists in need of formalized training. Using a combination of online lecture, interactive course work, documentation exercises, and instructor conference calls, this intensive two week course gives you the same content, tools, and skills that our live CDI Boot Camp provides. Topics covered in the boot camp include medical record review and physician queries, MS-DRGs and IPPS reimbursement, ICD-9-CM coding rules, and CDI program benchmarking and compliance initiatives.

Participants work at their own pace over the two-week period, eliminating the need to take a week away from work to complete the traditional classroom boot camp.

“The CDI industry is growing, as evidenced by the tremendous growth in new ACDIS members, professionals earning their CCDS credential, and attendance at the annual ACDIS conference and CDI Boot Camps,” says Brian Murphy, director of ACDIS. “By making CDI Boot Camp available online, HCPro makes it possible for more members of the CDI community to take advantage of this unique learning opportunity to enhance their professional skills.”

The CDI Boot Camp online version follows the introduction earlier this year of HCPro's popular Certified Coder Boot Camp® Online version.

“More and more of our customers are turning to online education in this era of limited travel budgets and increasing workloads,” says Lauren McLeod, group publisher at HCPro. “Using video-based modules and weekly live office hour conference calls with instructors, our team has created an online experience that combines the best of our live class and the flexibility of participating any time of day, any day of the week.”

In addition to the CDI online and classroom versions, HCPro boot camp program listing boasts 14 different programs including certified coder boot camps for inpatient and outpatient coders, Medicare compliance boot camps, and Evaluation and management boot camp training, Many of the programs can be custom designed for onsite training. An ICD-10 training boot camp will be unveiled in September, and will be followed soon by an online option for early ICD-10 training.
