Broomfield, CO (PRWEB) March 18, 2005

MWH Soft, a leading global provider of water resources applications software, today announced that after receiving an overwhelming number of outstanding abstracts from engineering professionals worldwide, preparations are underway to finalize the technical program for its 2005 Advances in Geospatial Infrastructure Modeling and Asset Management Technology conference, the most comprehensive and significant network modeling and analysis symposium of its kind. The event, slated for August 8-9, 2005, at the Renaissance Suites Hotel in Broomfield, Colorado, is targeted to industry executives and decision makers involved in all aspects of the operation, production and protection of water distribution and sewer collection systems. The foremost engineering, regulatory, technology and security authorities in the water and wastewater field will be on hand to discuss the latest technological innovations, real-world strategies and practical solutions, proven infrastructure protection measures, and technical information, making it the largest gathering of geoengineering professionals worldwide.

The International Geoengineering Conference (IGC) is an interactive forum for presenting the state of the art in water and wastewater infrastructure geoengineering; facilitating ongoing cooperation and exchange of technological innovations and proven solutions; and discussing the issues, regulatory activities and technological challenges that face the geoenvironmental community. This year's conference is sponsored by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and twenty-four top engineering and technology firms, including Americec, Avtex, Azteca, Black & Veatch, Burns & McDonnell, Carollo, CDM, Earth Tech, Elber De Jesus Hernandez Ingenieria Civil & Ambiental, ESRI, Flow Science, HACH, HDR, HYDRANNT Consulting, IDModeling, Khatib & Alami, KYPIPE LLC, Lenocker & Associates, MWH, PBS&J, So & Associates, TAG, West Yost & Associates, and Woolpert. The conference is co-chaired by Denver Water, Colorado and the Regional Municipality of Niagara, Canada.

"The IGC is presented exclusively to MWH Soft users, potential users, and partners with a special interest in the utility industry, and we are pleased to offer them the broadest range of sessions ever," said MWH Soft Conference Director Lama Chalhoub. "Because it attracts a large international gathering of leading experts, this event offers industry professionals a unique opportunity to explore exciting new technologies, join in the modeling debate, benchmark against and network with their peers, find solutions, hone their management skills, enhance operations, and boost their future productivity and success."

During two days of content-rich gatherings, attendees will get a sneak peek at the latest geospatial solutions and learn how to gain a competitive edge in an increasingly difficult economy. Mainstage engineering keynote speaker Dr. Don J. Wood, Professor Emeritus at the University of Kentucky and a world-renowned hydraulic engineering authority, will spotlight breakthrough solutions and innovations in transient analysis destined to revolutionize the design, operation and maintenance of drinking water infrastructure systems and more effectively protect public health. Other keynote speakers, including MWH Soft executives and industry luminaries, will provide updates on business and technology directions.

Conference topics will include the latest advances in transient analysis and GIS-centric modeling applications as well as proven ways to interface network models with SCADA and alert notification systems, develop improved water quality models, design effective unidirectional flushing programs, build large-scale hydraulic models, calibrate network models, optimize system design/rehabilitation and operations, and improve water security. The event will also look at the latest developments in other critical areas, including innovative master planning technologies and the role of GIS and Asset Management in improving business performance. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with MWH Soft product managers and technical specialists. Feedback on product direction and opportunities to share information among users will also be provided through the IGC networking sessions.

"IGC gives the MWH Soft team an unprecedented opportunity to get close to our customers, talk face-to-face about today's business challenges, and share ideas in an environment designed to foster innovation, inspiration and creativity," said Paul F. Boulos, Ph. D, the company's President and Chief Operating Officer. "It also offers our customers a wealth of critical learning experiences and a dynamic forum in which to network and exchange cutting-edge developments and proven solutions with key industry figures. It is a terrific way to meet influential industry pioneers, glean ideas on taking operations to the next level of productivity, and get a competitive edge on the future."

"This exciting conference gives us an opportunity to get close to our customers and partners in order to share ideas and best practices, discuss technology trends and innovations, and affect software development and enhancement," said J. Erick Heath, PE, Vice President of Sales and Client Relations at MWH Soft. "These people are the driving force that guides the evolution of our products."
