Houston, February 6, 2002 – Petris Technology, Inc. has launched a new software product, the PetrisWINDS Internet Dashboard. This Web-based tool provides an immediate, easy to understand, graphical representation of large complex data sets. Early users have found the Dashboard to be helpful in analyzing the health of a company's assets, projects or facility performance, among many other potential application uses. Based upon the award-winning Map of the Market software application, the Dashboard enables instantaneous viewing of patterns, trends, anomalies, inconsistencies and data as visual indicators, not just quantified data.
Petris enhanced this proven visualization tool, originally developed for the financial market, by allowing the user to create a map using a dynamic link to a database or via MS Excel template. This feature gives the user broad flexibility in the use of the Dashboard and provides a standard for exchanging Dashboard views, or “maps”. The Dashboard creates a hierarchy of data, allowing one to “drill down” into various levels of data presented, and then displays a map which enables the user to visualize that data through numeric values displayed as rectangles of various sizes, colors and relative positions.
