Franklin, MI (PRWEB) December 7, 2010
Optimal Care, Inc. announces today the home health company’s rank as the No. 4 small business workplace in Michigan by Detroit’s largest daily newspaper. The Detroit Free Press honors Optimal Care for providing quality care, strong leadership, and staff support.
Optimal Care – a Bingham Farms-based, Medicare - certified home health care agency specializing in geriatric, behavioral health and dementia care – was honored in the “2010 Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces” competition, which recognized 105 businesses from across Michigan in large, mid-size and small categories. WorkplaceDynamics of Exton, Pa. conducted the survey for the Free Press with 41,291 respondents in Michigan. When asked what key factors led to Optimal Care’s most recent accomplishment, chief operations officer and administrator Coleen Murphy-DeOrsey, RN, BS, said, “We pride ourselves on being more than owners and managers of our organization. We create a supportive work environment built on respect, trust and communication that allows our employees to focus on the most important aspect of their jobs – to provide every patient with the highest quality of clinical care through personal and technological excellence. If we see an opportunity to advance in any way, we don’t hold back.”
Optimal Care supports its clinical staff as they provide care to patients in real-time via mobile devices, such as the Apple iPad, and Web-based home health software for patient care and office operations.
“All members of our clinical field staff have iPads and they love them,” said Murphy-DeOrsey. “They are using their iPads both in the field and in the home along with Kinnser Software’s Agency Manager™, which is an efficient and easy-to-use Web-based software system that enables our clinicians to access their patients’ clinical information, document visits and communicate with other clinical disciplines in real time.”
In support of its employees, Optimal Care also encourages continuing education by offering funding and tuition reimbursement to all clinical staff for specialty certifications. Employees are encouraged to become involved with Optimal Care, Inc.’s non-profit foundation to help patients in the local community who do not have the financial resources to obtain health products or services through private fundraising.
“We are very proud of the company we have built together,” said Murphy-DeOrsey, referring to owners Kristyn Gall, APRN, BC, NP, Chief Clinical Officer, and Josephine Grider, Director of Nursing, APRN, BC, NP. “It is an honor to be recognized by our employees for this award. We are privileged to work with such a talented team.”
