The DL Chronicles 'Bigger, Better, Sexier': Controversial African American Gay Series Gains International Cult Status as Latest Installment Premieres in Oakland, CA

The DL Chronicles, a sexy, independent short film anthology about men who lead double lives, by Indie directors, Quincy LeNear and Deondray Gossett, continues to stir up the heat. Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) August 9, 2006

The DL Chronicles tells the stories of men of color who by consequence and by choice, live sexually duplicitous and secret lifestyles. Narrated by aspiring journalist Chadwick Williams, as he pursues research while authoring a book about MSM (Men who Sleep with Men) aka "The Down Low," we enter into a provocative and intriguing world of sexual discovery, denial, betrayal, love, and loss.

Episode: Robert is a romantic dramedy that introduces Robert Hall (portrayed by television star, Terrell Tilford), a closeted talent agent who falls for a hot health food store manager, 20 years his junior. What Robert fails to share is that there is a very special lady in his life. When Robert's new lover grows suspicious about his many secrets, a game of cat and mouse ensues within this humorous love triangle, with a surprising twist of events.

The DL Chronicles pilot Episode: Wes, premiered at Outfest's Fusion LGBT People of Color Film Festival on November 13th, 2005. It has since screened across the U. S. and the globe, selling out screenings in London, England, as well as Guyana, South America. The film was recently honored to screen at the 2006 Gay Games, NewFest: The 18th New York LGBT Film Festival, and Outfest: The 24th Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. The international fan base has grown to over 600,000 in less than one year, with inquiries coming from as far as Germany, Asia, and Australia.

Directors Deondray Gossett and Quincy LeNear received a Certificate of Honor from the City of San Francisco for Outstanding Contribution to the Black LGBT community and an award for Excellence in Media from the NYC Black Men's Film Conference. Quincy LeNear was also chosen by The Advocate Magazine to represent the filmmaking duo for the 2006 Pride edition as one of fourteen notable LGBT individuals.

"We are overwhelmed and delighted by the support and interest from across the world. We never expected that an independent short film series would have such an impact. And we're not even on television yet," says Gossett.

"The DL men defy stereotype and we aim to defy both the images of people of color and of the 'gay' lifestyles that are commonly seen in entertainment," says LeNear.

Episode: Robert runs 40 minutes and stars TV heart throb Terrell Tilford, of "Guiding Light" and "Soul Food" fame. It also stars newcomers, Kareem Ferguson, Toyin Moses, and Sheilynn Wactor. A special appearance by Jason Stuart of "My Wife and Kids" and "The George Lopez Show," and a cameo appearance by Karamo, of MTV's Real World, Philadelphia. Episode: Robert, also features the music of Grammy winning artist, Jody Watley.
