Pitchers Power Drive training aid that increases pitchers velocity potential announces a partnership with professional pitcher Drew Storen to help educate youth pitchers to use their stronger lower body muscles to pitch.

"We are excited to partner with Drew Storen, professional pitcher in Washington DC to help teach youth and high school pitchers to use their stronger lower body muscles to pitch with”, said John Miller, president, of Pitchers Power Drive. Miller said it is very important for pitchers to learn at a young age to initialize their delivery from knee lift when departing from the rubber by using their hips. It is equally as important at older levels to maximize velocity potential and to take the stress off the arm and shoulder. Drew will be a great example for youth and high school pitchers to study, how he uses his hips in his delivery to generate the most force from his 6’2” 180 lb frame.”

Miller said that “Drew contacted us last winter to request a Pitchers Power Drive to train on at his off season workout facility”. After working out on the Pitchers Power Drive through the winter he said “the product is something that is very important to get the most of my body when I’m on the hill. The movement created by the Power Plate is essential to getting maximum results in my motion”. Miller added that “Drew is experiencing a great rookie major league season after being selected from Stanford University as the 10th pick in the 1st round of last year’s professional draft.”

After launching the Pitchers Power Drive just 18 months ago and having7 Professional teams, 85 colleges and over 100 high schools using the pitchers training aid, we felt it was important to introduce a youth model. We launched the youth model in late spring and thought Drew would be a great role model to help young pitchers learn early. Who better than a successful professional pitcher who trains on the product and believes in helping young pitchers learn what he did early in his career. Miller said “as a training company who has used and tested the training aid for the past five years in our Winning Pitchers Baseball Academy in Boston, it is very important for us to help pitchers achieve success while staying healthy. Drew Storen will help us educate pitchers of all ages to use their stronger lower body muscles.

Drew said to us “most every pitcher I’ve shown is a fan of the Pitcher’s Power Drive.” Miller said this is what we hear from the professional, college and high school coaches as well, that pitchers like using the pitching training aid. Pitchers want to learn to be the best they can and to take stress off their arms and shoulders said Miller. What the pitchers love is the auditory click and kinetic feedback as it helps them hear and feel their lower body being the leading force of their delivery, a training aid that will maximize their lower body muscles.

All Pitchers Power Drive owners have a web base training site to access at no charge. Miller said this site can be updated often to help pitchers advance their training. When Professional and College coaches share new training drills using the Pitchers Power Drive we update to share with our owners. Drew Storen will be on the owner’s site as well as other professional pitchers and coaches.

The picture of Drew Storen using the Pitchers Power shows his hip lead which sets his weight back on his driving leg as he shifts away from the rubber driving the Pitchers Power Drive plate down. This is back side power initiation taught by the velocity training aid.

The Pitchers Power Drive increases pitchers velocity potential by teaching this hip lead with the knee positioned over foot to set pitchers weight back. This device increases lower body power by training this hip lead from knee lift. This can be done because the pitchers foot is in solid contact on a 21 pound training device braced against the rubber. This allows the entire back leg and hip to move the pitcher’s body powerfully away from the rubber and creating more force at pitch landing by speeding the hips, torso and arm speed creating a more explosive pitch delivery.

The Pitchers Power Drive also teaches proper weight transfer. It prevents any early shift of weight to inside of foot as the foot is anchored with the pitchers entire weight. The Drew Storen picture shows this solid foot contact on the plate. It actually keeps the pitchers weight back forcing a correct hip lead to drive plate and prevent falling down the mound with front side. This prevents common faults of early hip rotation. Pitchers learn to keep their weight back with the knee positioned over the back foot while the back hip leads away from the rubber. This allows pitchers the ability to use their entire leg and back hip to produce full leg drive and extension to a closed landing.
