TechSherpas, the premier technical training and consulting company headquartered in Tampa, Florida, announced today that Raymond Gravatt has joined the TechSherpas team as Director of Microsoft Business Development. In this new role, Gravatt will be tasked with the development of strategic business relationships within the vertical business units of Microsoft as well as Microsoft Corporate Sales Channels.

Since joining the team, Gravatt has set high standards for himself and the team. As Director of Microsoft Business Development, Gravatt envisions TechSherpas and Microsoft working and growing together to make TechSherpas a more valuable certified partner for learning solutions. “Microsoft has standardized their business segments into focusing on vertical business units, such as retail, healthcare, financial services, state and local government to name a few and TechSherpas has primarily been in the commercial business segment. By reaching the business community in one segment, then expanding our reach to the other vertical segments, we can make TechSherpas the “go to” training partner for companies in the state of Florida,” said Gravatt.

“I have three goals planned for the calendar year,” said Gravatt. “First, is to have TechSherpas be the number one certified partner for learning solutions (CPLS) in the Southeast. Through the hard work of Margaret Iuculano, President of TechSherpas, we have already become a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner. We want to capitalize on this accomplishment and continue the expansion of TechSherpas’s business. This will be done though business development with other partnerships and relationships with the Microsoft Development Team throughout the Southeast. Then, by continuing to do well in this market we can move into other areas. Second, is to integrate with local companies in the Tampa community. Our final goal is to work with the local university systems and have TechSherpas professional trainers’ become a part of the Informational Systems Program, which will prepare graduates for entry into the work force with the tools that local businesses need for the development of their technologies.”

“Raymond brings us a valuable combination of senior leadership experience and perspective on our services from a Microsoft and Microsoft customer’s viewpoint,” said Margaret Iuculano, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, TechSherpas. "His vision for increasing the development of our Microsoft relationship is very important to our business and its growth. We are looking forward to his contributions and expertise which will add to the company and are very excited to have him on board.”

Before joining TechSherpas, Gravatt was the Licensing Business Manager for Microsoft Corporation. While working for Microsoft, he also worked as a Global/Strategic Account Executive in the State and Local Government Business Unit for the State of Florida. He has had thirty years of Information Technology experience with other companies such as Compaq Computers, Digital Equipment Corporation, BDM International, AT&T and Verizon Communication.
