Boston, MA, April 30, 2010 – Mobile marketing and strategy company, Renu Mobile, has announced the creation of a formalized Advisory Board and the board’s founding members; Dr. Mary Cronin, Tim Scannell, Kitty Dunning, Greg Farrell, Cynthia Artin and Dave Oberholzer. The decision comes amid a number of moves the mobile enabler has made, from selection of a mobile barcode partner, NeoMedia, to the launch of innovative mobile campaigns with TechTarget and Earth Day Network, focused on the continuing goal of strengthening the company’s position as an innovative, future-forward mobile enabler and strategy group.

Mobile marketing and strategy company, Renu Mobile, has announced the creation of a formalized Advisory Board and the board’s founding members; Dr. Mary Cronin, Tim Scannell, Kitty Dunning, Greg Farrell, Cynthia Artin and Dave Oberholzer.

The decision comes amid a number of moves the mobile marketing group has made, from selection of a mobile barcode partner, NeoMedia, to the launch of innovative mobile campaigns with TechTarget and Earth Day Network, focused on the continuing goal of strengthening the company’s position as an innovative, future-forward mobile marketing and strategy group.

Renu Mobile is bringing together executives with backgrounds spanning a spectrum of mobile-related industries, with the goal of leveraging their collective insights and experiences. Renu Mobile Chief Executive Officer, Carol Glennon, explains how the board fits into Renu Mobile’s strategic approach: “Success in the mobile marketing and strategy arena is highly linked to innovation, creativity and relationships. Mary J. Cronin is a professor in the Information Systems Department at Boston College. She is focused on the business and competitive impact of embedded, connected product intelligence or “smart products” in the healthcare, automotive and telecommunications industries. Her latest book, “Smart Products, Smarter Services: Strategies for Embedded Control” is published by Cambridge University Press. Earlier publications include "Doing Business on the Internet", "The Internet Strategy Handbook", and "Unchained Value", along with many other technology-strategy publications.
Dr. Cronin has more than 20 years experience in managing and advising technology-intensive organizations as a consultant, board member and senior executive, with particular expertise in developing Internet and wireless business strategies. She currently serves as an advisor for Auster Capital Partners and for IS Services at Brown University and is the editor for Smart Product Ecosystem Connections.

Tim Scannell is a respected writer, editor and analyst with more than 30 years experience in the computer industry.

As an editor and writer, he has worked for some of the top publishing companies in the world, including International Data Group, Ziff Davis, Cahners Publishing (now Reed Business Information) and CMP Media (now United Business Media). He has also written for publications including U. S. News & World Report, USA Today, The Boston Herald, Crain's Net Marketing, InternetNews. com, Mobile Enterprise and The Boston Globe, where he was a freelance technology columnist and contributed to the paper’s business section.

Presently, Mr. Scannell is Editorial Director for TechnologyGuide. com, a family of consumer and business technology review websites owned by TechTarget, Inc. He was also the founder and chief analyst with Shoreline Research, a Quincy, MA based consulting, research and information services company specializing in mobile and wireless technology and initiatives and a core member of Japan-based SOFTBANK Corp.’s U. S. initiatives in publishing, research and acquisitions.

Kitty Dunning is the Senior Vice President of Don Jagoda Associates. With more than 20 years in the events, marketing and promotions industry, her background spans a broad spectrum of industries and classes of trade with an emphasis on grocery and entertainment. Kitty has worked with several Fortune 500 companies providing marketing strategy as well as execution of promotional programs nationally and internationally. Kitty also sits on the Network of Executive Women Southern California committee which endeavors to attract, retain and advance women in the consumer products and retail industry through education, leadership and business development. Focusing on client needs, objectives and excellent customer service has enabled her to build strong relationships. She has received numerous awards and accolades.

Greg Farrell, Vice President of Business Development at ADT Security Systems (TYC) has more than two decades of experience in the mobile industry with extensive experience in marketing, distribution and market research.

Mr. Farrell is a former Vice President of Marketing for AT&T Wireless.
Now working as Vice President of Business Development for ADT Security, Mr. Farrell brings a technological approach to partnerships with the company. Mr. Farrell is experienced in building strategies based on consumer insight and then constructing and executing tactical programs that align with that insight.

Cynthia S. Artin, Managing Director for Auster Capital Partners (ACP), has been helping companies grow through sound investment, strategy and marketing positioning for 30 years. Ms. Artin is responsible for the Advisory practice.

Ms. Artin is also the founder of Artin Arts, a strategic marketing, branding and communications firm that worked with equity groups, hedge funds and venture capital firms to execute growth strategies and marketing positioning, emphasizing transaction communications associated with M&A, public offerings and the sale of businesses. When she joined ACP, she turned Artin Arts into a pro-bono strategic and creative agency serving non-profits.

Prior to founding Artin Arts, Ms. Artin ran communications for ITXC corporation, a global Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) provider, after serving as the Vice President of Corporate Communications for Global Crossing, IXnet and PC Communications and as Vice President of Creative Services for The American Stock Exchange. Ms. Artin is a graduate of Arizona State University.

David Oberholzer is a mobile industry consultant who has played a leading role in the industry at various companies including Limbo (now Brightkite), Verizon Wireless, Inphomatch (now Sybase 365) and Predictive Systems (now part of BT). In every role, David has been focused on bringing new and innovative technologies to consumer and business markets. Prior to his current consulting business, he was VP of Corporate Development at Brightkite, Director of Wireless Data Content at Verizon Wireless, Director of Carrier Services at InphoMatch and General Manager of the Mid-Atlantic region for Predictive Systems, a network consulting company. Prior to these experiences, Dave served as an officer in the U. S. Navy where he flew carrier-based aircraft, and was a White House Military Social Aide. He received a BS in Computer Science from Villanova University and has an MBA and a MIS from the University of Maryland.
