SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) November 3, 2008
"This merger is a significant milestone for our team of professionals and brings a substantial benefit to our clients who increasingly seek cutting-edge ideas that can be applied to the specific requirements of local markets," said Walt Vernon, the Mazzetti President who will now preside over the merged company. "With the merger, we now have a national presence to present our forward-looking expertise in climate change consulting for new and retrofitted green buildings. This, coupled with vertical expertise that both companies share in more technical-oriented projects for the healthcare, data center, and clinical and research laboratory sectors, allows us to serve clients of all sizes virtually anywhere in the country. In fact, a significant reason for our joining with NLB is their national presence with projects in over thirty states, and offices that complement our geographic locations very well. Our newly combined team of professionals and staff is excited to have a broader playing field and the resources of a much larger combined consulting firm as we support existing large clients and begin work with new clients."
The merged firm will be headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Baton Rouge, Denver, Houston, Irvine, Nashville, Sacramento, and Portland, Or. The combined firm will have $32 million in gross revenues, with 170 employees, which will place it among the largest engineering firms in the country. The new company offers a full range of client services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology engineering design and consulting, medical equipment planning, commissioning, and climate change consulting.
According to Hugh Nash, founding partner of Nash Lipsey Burch in Nashville, "Mazzetti is currently engaged with the design of several high-profile California healthcare projects, and their large project experience will be valuable to our clients in the East. In addition, Mazzetti is building a climate change consulting service to help clients with various regulations and regulatory opportunities. Mazzetti's experience in this area comes as a result of California's aggressive move toward carbon offsets and a cap-and-trade system for greenhouse gasses; that's a trend that will likely move east in the not too distant future. The merger allows the larger combined firm to offer similar services and lessons learned to clients across the country."
Founded in 1962, Mazzetti serves the healthcare, mission critical, laboratory, and higher education sectors. Mazzetti has become a leading expert in climate change engineering for buildings of all types. NLB was founded in 1997 as a full-service mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consulting and design firm providing engineering and technology services, as well as medical equipment planning and procurement for healthcare clients.
