New York (Vocus) December 16, 2010

The Leading Hotels of the World is pleased to announce that it has recently accepted the following new member hotels:

Framed by idyllic countryside, Borgo Egnazia Hotel & Villas is a celebration of traditional Puglian architecture, situated among olive groves along Italy’s Adriatic coast. Executed in shades of white, guest accommodations maintain the tranquility of the resort’s bucolic surroundings, with airy interiors and abundant natural light. There are 63 guest rooms and suites, housed in the main hotel building and in the townhouses of the village area; while the 28 three-bedroom villas offer private pools, rooftop terraces, and private gardens. Restaurant options include Due Camini with indoor and outdoor dining, Beach Bambu, and Borgo Restaurant and Pizzeria. For recreation there are four pools, three tennis courts, an 18-hole championship golf course, fitness center and spa. Eight function rooms are available for meetings and banquets.

Shanti Maurice is a boutique lifestyle resort comprising 61 suites and 17 villas – each with its own private pool -- on 36 acres of landscaped tropical gardens, near the small town of St. Felix. Set along a pristine horseshoe coral sand cove on the largely untouched south coast of Mauritius, the hotel lies between the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and the vivid greens of the sugarcane fields, providing its guests with access to the sights, sounds and flavors of the unique mix of Indian, African, French and Chinese influences that form the local Creole culture. Restaurants include Stars, serving contemporary Cape cuisine; Fish and Rhum Shack, offering seafood and Mauritian specialties; Pebbles, featuring Indian and Creole fare; and Red Ginger Lounge & Bar. For relaxation there are water sports, the Nira Spa, an outdoor pool, tennis and a kids’ club.

Set in the Tsim Sha Tsui area of Kowloon, opposite the Cultural Center, Hullett House is just a short walk from the Star Ferry Terminal. Located in the former Marine Police Headquarters, it is named in honor of Richmond William Hullett, a dedicated botanist who discovered a variety of Bauhinia, also known as the orchid tree. The Bauhinia flower, with its delicate leaves, was adopted as the floral emblem of Hong Kong in 1965. The design-led heritage development consists of ten distinctive, intimate hotel suites complemented by attentive butler service; five restaurants and a boutique. Small meetings up to 30 people can be accommodated in two conference rooms.

Taj Falaknuma Palace, with its rare blend of Italian and Tudor architecture, is a splendid historical palace on a hill overlooking the 400-year-old Indian city of Hyderabad, known for its monuments, shopping boulevards and rich culture. With just 60 exceptionally proportioned guest rooms and suites set within expansive gardens, the newly opened hotel offers exceptional serenity in grand surroundings. Adaa is the venue for fine Indian cuisine, while Celeste features Italian and Mediterranean fare; afternoon tea is served in the Jade Room. In addition to the Jiva Gtande Spa, there is an outdoor pool and a health club and fitness center. There are also two conference and banquet rooms.

Chikusenso Mt. Zao Onsen Resort & Spa is cradled at the foot of Mt. Zao in one of the most beautiful regions of Japan. In the true spirit of “Omotenashi” (Japanese hospitality), the hotel offers guests incomparable service and attention to detail. Its 21 rooms and 11 suites each has its own private indoor or outdoor Onsen, living room, 40-inch Sony TV and Nespresso coffee machine. Kamajin restaurant serves an authentic Kaiseki-style menu, with ingredients carefully selected by the master chef from local sources. Also on offer are teppan-yaki of extra fine Sendai Beef and other seasonal food. The resort features a multi award-winning Spa Botanica and Seven Eden Wellness Gym. There are also two conference rooms, and a library with an extensive collection of books on Japanese history, culture, architecture, and lifestyle.

A ten-minute drive from the beaches or the night life of La Barra and Jose Ignacio in Uruguay, Hotel Fasano Punta del Este comprises 32 bungalow style villa suites situated harmoniously between the green plains and the River Maldonado. Long a favored destination for South America’s most sophisticated Punta del Este has been compared to New York’s fabled Hamptons. The gastronomic restaurant, that appears to have been carved into rocks with rugged stone walls and hardwood floors, boasts an upper outdoor deck with spectacular views of the 1000-acre estate all the way to the beachfront in the distance. Abundant recreation facilities include two tennis courts, the Fasano Spa by Renata de Abreu, a fitness center, and an indoor swimming pool. A nine-hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer is due to open in 2012.
