Regina, SK (PRWEB) March 7, 2006
Announcing the launch of a brand new blog: Veggies, Yarns & Tails (www. veggiesyarnsandtails. wordpress. com), featuring vegetarian and vegan recipes, yarn tips and pattern suggestions, poetry, general and health-related articles. A unique blend of informative stories, good food and fun.
Geraldine Hartman, author of "Not Just for Vegetarians, Delicious Homestyle Cooking, the Meatless Way", has expanded from her original recipe website, www. notjustforveg. com to reach a whole new group of readers. In addition to great new vegetarian recipes and cooking tips, Hartman now shares her love of yarn crafts, all things feline, poetry and prose. Timely articles, book reviews, health-related topics and product reviews add to the interesting mix. Daily updates will keep the content fresh and entertaining.
"Life has taken many twists and turns since my days at Ryerson," Geraldine writes in Veggies, Yarns & Tails. "Writing has always been a part of my life, sometimes more, sometimes too little, since my first trek to Toronto. Many places, loves and losses have come and gone. But what always remains, and what this blog again brings to mind, is my love for writing and for reading."
Here is more from the blog:
Book Review: The Spice and Herb Bible Ian (aka Herbie) Hemphill has written a must-have book for every cook’s collection. Not only is this a great reference guide explaining the growing, storage and suggested usage of a long list of herbs and spices; it is also a fascinating read from start to finish. The attractive, full-color book includes personal stories, suggestions for combining herbs and spices and even some recipes. Truly de-mystifies the subject and makes experimenting with new spice and food combinations fun and rewarding. I highly recommend this book, my favorite herb/spice reference guide.
Savory Cheddar-Cheese Muffins These muffins have received rave reviews from so many of my cookbook readers. Easy to make, always delicious. Adding crushed, dried herbs makes these muffins ideal to accompany any soup. Leave the herbs out, add your favorite jam or preserves and you have a satisfying breakfast to go. (Check out www. veggiesyarnsandtails. wordpress. com for the recipe)
Just as her cookbook was NOT just for vegetarians; Veggies, Yarns & Tails is NOT just another blog.
