Fighting Back Against Healthcare Infections and Superbugs
The best way to reduce the occurrences of hospital and healthcare associated infections is to ensure that staff have been adequately trained. In-house training using BVS products offers this solution in the most effective and efficient way.

The UK's Department of Health and Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) has announced this week that it is going to begin auditing residential Care Homes for Infection Control problems as part of the response to the growing problem of healthcare associated infections such as MRSA. Jane Kennedy, the minister in charge of infection control measures, warned it was ÂeveryoneÂs business to improve standards.
The UKÂs Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety has identified that one of the key ways to win the fight against healthcare associated infections is to ensure that healthcare workers improve their ongoing professional training. But managers can never be sure that their staff have been trained in best practice without sending them individually on expensive training courses.
The answer, according to Paul Neville, Learning Development Manager of BVS Training Ltd, is to use an in-house training model: ÂTraining in-house with our videos is flexible, professional, and effective and also offers the benefits of reduced disruption of rotas and overall value for moneyÂ.
BVS, leveraging the experience they have gained in producing training solutions for the care sector, has added to its range of infection control products by launching three new training resources on infection control for the community and hospital settings.
Using the BVS videos and the accompanying question and answer sheets and case studies, learning points are clearly demonstrated. Managers can then be satisfied that staff have understood all the learning points conveyed. It is then up to managers to ensure that staff are applying the training in practice. Should managers identify the need to revisit some of that training this is easily achieved by having short refresher sessions.
ÂOur products are designed to ensure healthcare standards are improved through improving the skills of staff. With our infection control titles it is the community as a whole that is improved said BVS Managing Director Luke Bond.
