Nutballz Buys Elvis Cup Appearance
Elvis fans in Colorado can have their photo taken with the Cup to help Nutballz raise money and awareness for celiac disease
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) January 13, 2005
After selling leftover water from a cup used by Elvis Presley, Wade Jones, of Belmont, N. C., sold a one-time appearance of that same Styrofoam cup on eBay. Nutballz Inc., a celiac-friendly food company based in Boulder, Colo., purchased the cupÂs appearance to help raise awareness for celiac disease.
Nutballz was founded to provide diet alternatives for celiac disease, a widely misunderstood and often misdiagnosed genetic disorder affecting millions of Americans. Studies show as many as one in 5 people suffer from gluten intolerance, while one in 133 are afflicted with the more severe celiac disease. Nutballz are an energy snack with no gluten or refined sugar.
ÂOur company likes to have fun while addressing this serious health issue by providing great-tasting, gluten-free snacks, so the now-famous Elvis Cup is a perfect guest for our fundraising event, said Duffy. A portion of the money raised will benefit the Center for Celiac Research, a division of the University of Maryland that is dedicated to research, awareness, consultation, diagnosis and treatment of celiac disease.
Guests will be able to have their photo taken with the cup for $1  with proceeds benefiting the Center for Celiac Research  at Nutballz Night Out Jan. 25 at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colo.
