We Care Home Health Services is celebrating 25 years of providing quality health care in communities across Canada.
Founded in 1984 in Brandon, Manitoba, We Care has expanded to over 50 locations, meeting the needs of over 800 communities. We Care proudly remains Canadian owned.
We Care was the creation of Bev McMaster, a nurse from Brandon. Bev recognized an opportunity of delivering support to those needing care in their homes. She enlisted the assistance of her husband, George, and together they created the "We Care Way".
Bev and George's commitment to excellence continues. This has been demonstrated by the Company's continued involvement with Accreditation Canada. Initially obtaining accreditation status in 2001, We Care made the commitment to continuously review their service delivery processes to ensure quality and maintain leading edge practices.
John Schram assumed leadership of the organization in 1999. Under his direction, the company has grown by more than tenfold, providing services to over 15,000 Canadians every week. "I am proud to be part of an organization whose values and mission reflects a dedication to our community," Mr. Schram says. "Our staff consistently excels at meeting client needs, encouraging independence and displaying commitment to their work that is exceptional. As home, community and occupational health care evolves, We Care is determined to remain at the forefront of new developments, particularly in using new technologies to enable us to increase our client services with existing staff."
We Care's forward-thinking approach to meeting the needs of clients and staff ensures the company explores new avenues of managing their business. We Care has developed partnerships with technology companies to allow it to develop cost effective ways to improve the productivity of its staff and the back room processes.
We Care identified specific client groups with specialized needs and developed programs for Acquired Brain Injury, Palliative Care, Diabetes, and Advanced Foot Care give staff the confidence and skills to deliver superior service.
