The new SCP polymer family from DuPont™ Vespel® is now available in shapes. The Vespel® SCP family of products delivers improved part life, reduced weight and cuts costs. These benefits are delivered though increased temperature handling, improved dimensional stability, broader chemical compatibility and greatly improved wear resistance. Whether you are machining parts from rod or bars, Vespel® SCP provides superior performance.
The SCP family consists of three compositions. Vespel® SCP-5000 shapes are an unfilled polymer grade providing enhanced strength and dimensional stability, while Vespel® SCP-5050 and SCP-50094 shapes employ new filler technologies for lower friction and enhanced wear resistance. “The DuPont™ Vespel® SCP family of shapes marks a step-change advance in the high-temperature capabilities of non-metallic parts, and can deliver substantial cost and performance advantages over metals and other engineering plastics.” said Mark Forkapa, Global Market Segment Leader. “The introduction of Vespel’s SCP shapes delivers solutions to a wide variety of demanding applications in industries such as aerospace, semiconductor, glass and material handling.”
