University City Restaurants Explode as City Grows

University City in the Charlotte area in planning a new town center and planning its future identity. Already a storm of franchise and family owned restaurants have moved to the front of that growth.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) April 19, 2006

University City Restaurants and north Charlotte lunchtime eating spots have exploded in recent months. New in the Charlotte dining and University City scene is a handful of new restaurants and tons of new places for the lunchtime diner to get away and try something new.

With the addition of the Grande Promenade II and the Shoppes at Davis lake restaurants no less than 12 new restaurants have opened with more than 10 different types of dining choices all within a few miles of the main banking headquarters in Northern Charlotte and University City.

For the diner who is looking for dipping and flavor there are a numer of spicy chicken wings and bar-b-que choices on the menu in the 2 new developements. A diner looking for added flavor and hot spicy chicken can stop by Zaxbys off of Harris for wings and things, Wingstop for spice wings and sweet tea, could swing by Buffalo Wild Wings in the Promenade II for wings and fried mushrooms, can check out the tasty Shanes Rib Shack for ribs and pork, or head over to the classic Chick-fil-a in the Shoppes at Davis Lake.

If you are looking for a wider choice range, check out Red Robin by Mallard Creek and Harris Blvd for all sorts of quality food in a fun setting or the similar Cheddars across from Walmart which is decoratd very nicely for a casual date atmosphere.

The healthier sandwich seeking lunch crowd has two new high quality choices with the excellent Jason's Deli by the post office off Harris, and the fast and fresh tasting new Lenny's Subs francise in the Shoppes at Davis Lake. Lenny's has some very friendly Tennessee roots in its past and nice people.

Italian doesnt ofer too many new choices but a good amount of local staples in this same area. The new DaVincis Pizza in Davis Lake offer very good pizza and strombolis, while a newly built Olive Gaden at Northlake Mall is always a solid choice when nothing else seems to fit. Also of note is the popluar Amalfis, which I wasnt too crazy about by Target just off Harris.

Mexican food and Mexican culture which is plentiful in Charlotte has the always cool Moes Southwest Grill for burritos, Qdoba for gringo-Mexican, great staff and service at the Fiesta Maya, always high qualty new location of On The Border at Nortlake Mall, and the four star Zapatas Mexican Cantina past Walmart on Harris.

Ths is pretty much all just the last 12 months in the University City Restaurants and dining scene, and with new construction and talk of a University City Town Center going in soon, we have our belts loosened already.
