Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 13, 2008

Homecare Homebase, today announced the addition of the Corridor Home Care and Hospice eLearning Exchange (CHEX eLearning) to their agency automation solution. Through an agreement with The Corridor Group, Inc. the Homecare Homebase solution now offers homecare and hospice agencies a tool to facilitate and track training and maintain compliance credentials by seamlessly integrating training efforts into the back office solution.

"Tracking training and compliance requirements at the agency level has always been a challenge," said April Anthony, CEO for Homecare Homebase. "By partnering with CHEX eLearning we are able to combine superior tracking and record keeping with an industry-leading training and continuing education tool. As our home health customers continue to grow, and training needs get more complex, this is an ideal solution that offers complete integration into the software they are already using to run their day to day business. Successful training initiatives are important to overall agency success."

The CHEX eLearning system links directly into the Resource Manager in the HCHB solution through a secure interface, allowing agency HR personnel to quickly and easily add employees and their managers into the system. Once an employee is in the system, the agency manager can select required courses for each employee to complete. The HCHB solution automatically populates course information from the CHEX eLearning system, and sends an alert to the employee who is then able to view and enroll in the required courses. Upon course completion the CHEX eLearning system sends a confirmation to the Resource Manager and a permanent record is included in the HCHB system eliminating filing and tracking errors. "By working closely with The Corridor Group on this project, we were able to integrate one of the most difficult parts of managing agency-wide training, the dissemination of information to dispersed staff and the final collection of training results," said Scott Beard, VP Implementation at Homecare Homebase. "We've effectively eliminated the black holes that typically plague this process."

One agency that was involved in the initial roll-out of this program and has already begun to see the benefit is Residential Home Health in Madison Heights, Michigan. Residential completes over 1500 visits on any given day, through a large, mobile field staff. "As our agency continues to grow, it's becoming more and more difficult to get all of the staff into the office in a place big enough to hold them all for training," said Rhonda David, Clinical Education Manager for Residential. "Online training is ideal for an agency our size, it allows us to disseminate training programs more easily, better track compliance and internal training requirements and has been a big bonus to our staff who like the flexibility of the online training," commented Rhonda. "They can take their required coursework right in the comfort of their own home."

The Corridor Group is a leader in homecare and hospice consulting, executive search and educational products and training. CHEX eLearning provides educational materials that are custom tailored to the training and orientation needs of home care providers. "This integrated solution will greatly benefit employees of agencies using Homecare Homebase," said Deb Scholl, Managing Director of Education for The Corridor Group. "CHEX eLearning focuses on delivering quality, evidence-based training and mandatory education for all staff levels. With the added benefit of direct integration into the Resource Manager, Homecare Homebase customers are going to see positive increased in training acceptance and tracking," stated Ms. Scholl.

"We have incorporated many courses from the CHEX library into our general orientation process to ensure consistent and comprehensive training for our 50+ offices," said Tracey Kruse, COO, Encompass Home Health, Dallas, Texas. "We have already seen this approach provide our agency supervisors with additional time to focus on more specific orientation related to our company and we anticipate a positive impact on our ability to continue to recruit and retain the best staff possible. Online training is a very positive benefit for caregivers, especially those who spend most of their time in the field."

"Homecare Homebase is happy to provide this value-added functionality to all of our customers. It further advances our commitment to integrating as many of the appropriate services as possible for our customers, enabling them to focus on running their business as effectively and efficiently as possible, while maintaining the highest levels of patient care and staff satisfaction," said Tom Maxwell, COO, Homecare Homebase. "At the end of the day, a well-educated staff is going to enable the agency to provide the best care and that's what this business is all about."
