Flickin' Chickens for a new Guinness World Record

Flickin' Chickens for a new Guinness World Record

Festival Attendees attempt to set the Guinness World Records® record for “Most People Throwing Rubber Chickens at the Same Time”

Indian Orchard, MA (PRWEB) April 20, 2010

Spring is in the air and so are the rubber chickens, as participants of the Charles River Watershed Association’s (CRWA) (http://www. charlesriver. org)28th Run of the Charles Canoe and Kayak Race plan to make history by setting the Guinness World Records® record for the “Largest Rubber Chicken Toss.”

The record-setting event will take place on Sunday, April 25 at 3pm during the Finish Line Festival following this year’s Run of the Charles Canoe and Kayak Race, which is held to benefit the Charles River Watershed Association and its efforts to protect the health, beauty and accessibility of the Charles River.

The Finish Line Festival, where some races begin and all races finish, will host day-long activities for the public at DCR’s Artesani Park on Soldiers’ Field Road in Brighton, MA. Festival admission is free and with a $1 donation to the CRWA, participants will receive an official rubber chicken, courtesy of The Haywire Group (http://www. haywiregroup. com), the award-winning toy company behind the Flickin’ Chicken™ game.

“We are thrilled to sponsor the largest rubber chicken toss and be part of the CRWA’s celebration of the Charles River,” said David Blanchard, Director of Sales & Marketing of The Haywire Group. “We look forward to introducing festival guests to the wacky and hilarious Flickin’ Chicken game and hope that they discover a new love for chicken-flicking. It’s a really fun way to spend time outdoors with family and friends.”

“We tossed a Flickin’ Chicken about the CRWA office. They fly well in a controlled environment,” said Bob Zimmerman, Executive Director of Charles River Watershed Association. “We’re ready to see how they fly in a real test. It should be fun.”
