Annual Event Focuses on Raising Healthy Kids: Holistic Moms Network Announces 2010 Natural Living Conference

The Holistic Moms Network announces its 2010 Natural Living Conference, featuring Keynote Speaker Sally Fallon Morell, author and founding president of the Weston A. Price Foundation.

Caldwell, NJ (PRWEB) September 14, 2010

The Holistic Moms Network (www. holisticmoms. org) announced today their 7th Annual Natural Living Conference at the Dolce Conference Center in Basking Ridge, New Jersey on October 23, 2010. The conference is held annually to share information on holistic living and parenting and draws between 300 and 400 attendees, exhibitors and sponsors. Holistic Moms Network is a national non-profit that connects parents interested in holistic living.

This year's keynote speaker is Sally Fallon Morell, author of Nourishing Traditions and founding president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, speaking on the topic of Nutrition for Healthy Kids. A proponent of traditional, whole foods, Ms. Fallon Morell recently criticized the USDA dietary guidelines, as reported in the Washington Times: “The 2010 proposed Guidelines represent a national scandal, the triumph of industry clout over good science and common sense,” said Fallon Morell.

Instead of promoting a low-fat, high carbohydrate diet, Ms. Fallon Morell and the Weston A. Price Foundation promote their Healthy 4 Life Dietary Guidelines which emphasize the traditional four basic food groups with attention to pasture-based feeding and organic, pesticide-free whole foods.

In addition to the event’s Keynote Speaker, a series of workshop sessions are offered on a variety of holistic living and parenting topics. "The Natural Living Conference brings parents together to learn about natural wellness options and approaches so that they can make informed, educated decisions for themselves and their families," said Nancy Massotto, Ph. D., founder of Holistic Moms Network. "Connecting with hundreds of other parents who are passionate about good health and green living inspires people to make positive change in their lives – for their well-being and for the health of the planet," added Dr. Massotto.

Workshop sessions at this year's conference include:
Holistic Pediatrics, Partnering with Families to Care for the Whole Child with Dr. Lawrence Rosen and Dr. Heather Jeney
Natural and Non-Toxic Home with Candita Clayton Midday Meditation with Toni Chianetta Natural Approaches to Treating Cough, Cold and Flu for the Whole Family with Dr. Nathalie Stern
Self Care: The Key to Balanced Living with Dr. Donna Hamilton Stop Raising Einstein: Discover the Unique Brilliance in Your Child and You with Tara Kennedy-Kline
