A new service offering from Infoglide Software was announced today. Called Identity Resolution as a Service, or IRaas, it provides a hosted version of Identity Resolution Engine (IRE) for customers who favor an Internet-based, pay-as-you-go service over an enterprise software installation.

Infoglide Software announced today the availability of Identity Resolution as a Service (IRaaS(TM) ), a software-as-a-service (SaaS) adaptation of its flagship product, Identity Resolution Engine(TM) (IRE). IRaaS (http://www. infoglide. com/iraas) was designed for customers who want to learn who's who and who knows whom within their data but prefer using a hosted solution.
"We've received requests from prospective customers who want to resolve identities and find hidden relationships in their data, but prefer the simplicity of using an online service rather than an enterprise solution," said Ram Anantha, director of product management with Infoglide Software (http://www. infoglide. com). "In response, we created IRaaS to fill the current gap with a web-based service powered by the same technology as our enterprise products. Rather than licensing and installing software on their own servers, users can opt to access the software via the Internet on a pay-as-you-go basis."
IRaaS is a secure, private, and configurable hosted entity resolution service that enables matching, de-duplication, and identification of hidden relationships. Like IRE (http://www. infoglide. com/ire), it can go beyond traditional data matching and de-duplication technology by incorporating patented technology that includes over 50 attribute-specific algorithms, rather than using a "one size fits all" approach.
IRaaS also benefits from IRE scalability. In one test case, for example, the company loaded 1.7 million records in ten minutes and de-duplicated them in less than three hours.
Web-based services delivery makes it easy to get started and easy to manage costs based on the volume of work. Delivered as a horizontal service for multiple industries such as healthcare, marketing services, law enforcement, airport security, insurance, banking, and catalog services, IRaaS applications include customer record de-duplication, watch list matching, medical record management (EMPI (http://www. infoglide. com/empi), EHR, EMR), fusion center information sharing, fraud detection, householding, and compliance.
"We're experiencing an especially strong push for SaaS applications from smaller customers and prospects," said Bob Barker, chief marketing officer for Infoglide. "McKinsey and Sandhill recently surveyed small companies and found that 74 percent of them prefer SaaS solutions. The survey conducted by McKinsey & Company and SandHill Enterprise Software revealed that small companies (those with fewer than 100 employees) spend 26 percent of their software budget on subscription-based software compared to the 11-17 percent spent by larger companies. Not surprisingly, IDC is projecting a 40 percent year over year increase in SaaS products.
