American Sentinel University Adds Nanotechnology Focus to Online MBA Program

Nanotechnology Option is no small matter for online Executive MBA students.

Englewood, CO (PRWEB) March 16, 2006

Nanotechnology, and its application in manufacturing, health sciences, materials, and other industries, is reshaping the business of business. In response to this development and student demand, American Sentinel University is introducing a Nanotechnology Option to its online Executive MBA program.

“As leaders within their organizations, American Sentinel students already experience the impact of new, disruptive technologies. The Nanotechnology Option will enable them to develop the insight necessary to take advantage of these technologies as they emerge,” said Dr. Rick Oliver, CEO, American Sentinel University. Oliver announced the Nanotechnology Option while speaking at a manufacturing excellence conference.

Jayesh Doshi, CEO of high technology nanofiber manufacturing company eSpin Technologies, observed, “Nanotech can be a major growth driver in this country. If governments help fund it, the technology will be developed here and manufacturing jobs will be created in the US.”

Government investments are indeed increasing: the current U. S. federal budget earmarks $1.2 billion for National Nanotechnology Initiative, and for good reason. According to a recent study by the nanotechnology industry publication Small Times, the average annual salary globally in micro and nanotechnology is $84,605. In the United States, the average salary is $97,978.

This enhancement to the existing Executive MBA program enables American Sentinel students to more thoroughly understand the impact and implications of nanotechnology. This option will involve a strategic capstone project course that will include relevant readings and cases, and students will select for their project an organization that is impacted by the forces of nanotechnology.

American Sentinel Executive MBA students learn from highly qualified faculty with both academic and industry experience, and use a unique blend of real-time interactive virtual classroom sessions and various self-paced learning modules. This program targets mid-career professionals, who seek to enhance their careers by learning together with motivated student peers. The Executive MBA program is delivered entirely online and can be completed in less than two years.

American Sentinel University (www.
